I would avoid VASARA for more formal occassions. The houmongi available were limited and worned (fraying embroidery and peeling gold leaves). This could potentially be due to how busy the place was on that day and perhaps only the less desirable pieces were left. Most staff members are able to tie the less formal hanhaba obi, but only two people were able to tie the more formal fukuro obi. The person supporting me and my mother was rude and rough with the dressing and hair. Skin was pinched between sashes and hair was comb so tight that we both had headaches and had to tease our hair slightly to loosen it up. I was glad that the one supporting my partner was kind and helpful. It is really too bad that one staff member ruins it all.
Very good service dressing up. Staff knows some basic English. There is also a small shrine nearby to take photos. However, basic and one star package has limited selection. Nicer kimono cost more than USD$100 just for kimono alone.

It was super good experience!!! The staff was so nice to me and gentle with everything especially my hair. Even I’m usually violent when combing and she had the patience to go thru the knots with kindness lol. And they put on attack on titan music to accommodate me!! I’m so happy!! I got to participate in the store and this collab event. I’m beyond grateful. Thank u VASARA!!!
